Never a dull moment, thats what life with Fran was like. I met Fran on Feb 1,1971. conveniently we lived next store to each other in the French Quarter. We had our share of serious talks, but I don't think a day went by without laughing. She loved to talk about her 1st grade students as if she was their mother.
She also loved to travel. Fran always got so excited when we went on trips. We went to New York and Vermont to vist my family and many Tulane football away games. What fun
that was. She saw things in a different way, what a learning experience I had.
Most important of all, Fran led me to Christ on June 13, 1971.
As I look back in time, I now realize that Fran was is the most important person in my life.
I'm sorry I never told her that. I still love her very much. I will tell her that when we meet again.

My love for Fran began when I was 12 years old living in Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan (1965-1966). She was an elementary teacher at the Chitose American Independent School. I was a troubled, confused adolescent and by a suggestion of my 7th grade teacher (Wayne Sapp) Fran took me under her adventurous wing and I began to recognize and bloom as a young person. My life evolved and influenced by Fran. My love to her always and my love to her family and wonderful sister, Norma and Buddy (Norma's husband. Fran, you are back home.
My fondest memories are of our times of laughter, of which there were many. We laughed and cried with each other, read scripture, and talked and talked and talked even when she had her jaws wired shut. Fran changed the lives of many children for the better. She is now singing (in tune) in Heaven with the angels and she is laughing because the new Pope has her name.
