Frances Diane Brown's Obituary
On November 5, 2023, Frances Diane Brown passed away at home after a long illness surrounded by family and friends. She was 76 years old. She was born to Kathryn Holcombe and JB Brown in Spartanburg, SC. There she attended and graduated from Dorman High and Cecil Business College. She later attended Dundalk Community College (BCCC) where she earned an Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration.
Diane was a Vietnam Era Veteran who served in the US Army at Fort Holabird, MD, between 1965-1968. Rising to the rank of E-5, was awarded Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and Certificate of Achievement.
She worked for over six years with George Transfer at the Dundalk Marine Terminal and retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation after 18 years.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and brother, Steve L. Brown. She is survived by longtime friend and sister, Carmen Medina; the entire Medina family, who emotionally adopted her many years ago; Steven J. Medina, to whom she was "Memom," and his wife, Nicole; best friend Dorothy Becker; cousin, Frances Smith; very special friends, Janet Rivera and Almaris Escribano; and a host of other family and friends who loved her and she loved in return. She will be missed.
There will be no funeral service. A Memorial Mass will take place on Saturday, December 2, at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 am. Immediately following mass, a Celebration of Diane's life with Military Honors will take place at Beefalo Bob's in Curtis Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryland Food Bank or disabled American Veterans.
She was a member St. Jane Frances Church, Partners in Care, and a friend of Bill.
