I'll miss Fritz very much, he was a big part of my life growing up in Herald Harbor. I spent many weekends at Eric Hemmer's, and Fritz was always an amiable host. So many memories. Dinner at his kitchen table, spaghetti and salad with Russian dressing he made for me. Great stories. I remember hearing part of a fantastic continuing bedtime story he was telling Eric. In the evening he would often play board games with us, RISK was a particular favorite and he always joked about Eric and I needing to gang up on him to win. Driving us around in the green Triumph or brown Subaru, often pretending to be members of the original Star Trek crew - he would join us in playing the parts. Two Crabtowne Skier road rallies --- races where we had to decipher clues to find the directions --- that took us all over the county. Out on the Severn River on his sailboat. I'm so glad I was able to see him again this past summer.

Best Uncle a kid could ask for! Camping, stories and a zest for fun. I remember watching all the James Bond Movies at his house, and standing in line together to watch Star Wars when it came out. His mechanical abilities always amazed me...replacing a broken piston on a road trip, re-roofing his house at age 70 and learning how to make a website for his company. I will always picture him zipping around in his beloved Triumph TR4 convertible with the funny OOGA horn.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Your father and I and Elaine where friends since 1959. He and I were roommates and he was in our wedding party in 1963 .
WE stayed in frequent touch,(,shared photos ,many of you ) over years.I talked to him on August 21 or 22. he had just connected with Bill Hendricks after 20 years and gave me his e-mail address.Your mother was also a friend,. She was a beautiful lady
Having your father as a friend over all these years made me feel like a rich man.
If possible, we would be there on 3rd but Elaine is not in good health .So uncertain
Your father loved you
.
Have to stop, because ,Elaine and I are crying.
Thank you so much, Eric. Fritz was a favorite friend and we had great fun together in Washington in the late ‘50’s and early 60’s. In fact, I may have helped start him towards skiing and sailing with our boat the “Overdraft” and our frequent trips to Ligonier in Pennsylvania. He was a wonderful person and I can still here his singing rendition of “Function Junction” in his deep bass voice after he had a few beers. We had great times together and he has been a life long friend. We will all miss him but how great to have him with us all these years.
