Evelyn Louise Clark's Obituary
Evelyn L. Clark, 95, died on November 1, 2011 in Arnold, MD of natural causes. Known as Evie, she was born in Highland Township, PA to Sidney Fitzgerald and Julia McClellen. She was raised in Kane, PA with two sisters, Leone Lyle and Ellie Dyke, and two brothers, Cecil Fitzgerald and Jim Fitzgerald, all who precede her in death.
Evie lived in Youngsville most of her life, with her husband Kenneth H. Clark, who precedes her in death. She worked at the Whirley Industries in Warren, PA where she supported the efforts to unionize the employees. She also worked at the Rouse Nursing Home in Youngsville whose residents appreciated her services and especially her cookies. Her cooking specialties included baking breads, homemade rolls, pies and cookies for her home, organizations, extended family and friends. Evie raised a productive garden and canned extensively. True to the Fitzgerald green thumb talents, flowers flourished under her care. She also crocheted afghans for family and friends.
She was a dedicated homemaker; active member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter 478, and committed Sunday school teacher and member of the Presbyterian Church of Irvine, PA. In 1982 she moved down to live near her son in Arnold, Maryland. There she was an active participant in the Arnold Senior Center where she enjoyed political discussions and field trips. Evie was able to spend many years sharing family life with her son, his wife, her grandchildren and great grandchildren until her passing.
She is survived by her only son, Dennis K Clark and his wife Karen Clark of Arnold. She had one grandson, Chad Clark of Philadelphia and his wife Lauren Caprio Clark. Her only granddaughter, Kelly Clark Miller, lives in Severna Park, MD with her husband Greg and three daughters, Kaitlyn, Paige, and Morgan. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and their children.
A future date for her memorial service will be announced at a later time.
