Emma Bernice Wilson's Obituary
Emma Bernice Wilson was born on April 6, 1939, to the late Joseph Holland, Sr. and Emma V. Holland in Davidsonville, MD. She passed away peacefully on November 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving children after a lengthy illness.
Emma was loved by everyone. She never met a stranger in her life. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her children. Emma also loved cooking, especially cakes. People would go crazy for her crab cakes, fried chicken, hamburgers in gravy, and macaroni and cheese. Additionally, she enjoyed dancing and was the life of the party.
Emma was educated at Bates High School in Annapolis, MD. She held numerous jobs over the years, but lastly worked for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The job she enjoyed most was being a homemaker.
Emma’s faith was strong. She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness until her passing. She loved sharing the goodness of God and she tried tirelessly to convert everyone within an ear’s shot to become a Jehovah’s Witness.
Emma leaves to cherish five children: Sharon Joyce (Kenny), Rodney Wilson (Doren), Dane Thomas (Zina), Ryndell Thomas (Diane), her baby Darris Thomas, and adopted son Alvin Hart. She is also survived by four siblings: Joseph Holland, Jr., Thomas Holland, Henry Holland (Arletha), and Dorothy Galloway; grandchildren: Kona Williams, Chevon Wilson, Quann Joyce, Jovar Joyce, Nakeeva Wilson, Takira Thomas, Ayjah Thomas, Joquann Brooks, Monet Bohannon, Cecelia Cromwell, Violet Hall, Sonny Hall, Arnesh-a Hart, Camia Hart, and Annya Hart. Emma has a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and devoted friends Sister Helen Clinton and Cheryl Chisley.
In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her siblings: Rosalee Holland, James Holland, and Wilbert Holland.
Emma will be missed by all and is forever in our hearts.
