Emanuel Thomas' Obituary
Emanuel Thomas was born on November 13, 1928 in Davidsonville MD, to the late William Thomas and Eugenia Blake. He departed this life on Friday March 30, 2012, at Spa Creek Center in Annapolis MD after a lengthy illness.
He attended Davidsonville Elementary School. At the age of 23, he enlisted into the United States Army. Emanuel achieved the rank of Sergeant when he was honorably discharged in 1952.
Emanuel was employed by the Red Dove and J. Edwards Owens Contractors as a Heavy Equipment Operator, until his retirement. He was a self-taught pianist and guitarist, and cherished every moment he was able to share his God-given musical talent to various area churches, including Davidsonville Union Memorial, Mt. Zion United Methodist, Macedion, Hope St. Marks United Methodists, and Wilson Memorial United Methodist churches. He also enjoyed watching Orioles Baseball games on TV, playing a good game of cards with family and friends, but most of all he would get very excited about the opportunity to attend a good race at the horse track. Emanuel would tell a good joke to anyone who would listen because he loved to see a smile on your face.
He leaves to mourn his passing daughters, Louise Coates, Cynthia Wren, Amanda Hunt and Patsy Thomas. Son’s Richard Jr. and Warren Ashby; son-in-law Carroll Hunt Jr., six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A host of other family members and friends will cherish his memory.
