Ella Louise Sellman's Obituary
Ella Louise (Washington) Sellman born June 28, 1940 to the late John Washington and Ella Peters Washington in Bristol, MD. Ella transitioned this life on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the home of her daughter Rosita Sellman Parks holding her hand. Ella attended Anne Arundel County public schools. She was a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, residing in Annapolis at the time of her death.
After high school, Ella (affectionately called Snookie) married George Sellman. During their union they raised five children: Shirley M. Sellman, Larry J. Sellman, Thomas L. Sellman, Sally A. Sellman and Rosita Sellman Parks. Ella was a devoted wife and mother. Later, Ella would dedicate her life to serving Jehovah as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Ella would hold her unshakeable faith until her death. Ella shared a love for Jehovah and spending family time with her dear friend & spiritual sister, Alice Sharps. The two of them would gather their children together on weekends. They had so much fun playing cards and holding the infamous spelling tests. Neither Ella nor Alice wanted to admit to their children they weren't that good at spelling either, but the children were able to figure that out!
Prior to her death, Ella also worked for Lee's Insurance, located on West Street, for some time. Later Ella would be employed for many years as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant. She had a real love of taking care of the elderly. She was known for her hard work and dedication until her retirement.
To all who came to know Ella, family, friends and fellow worshippers, they knew of her kind heart, loving and giving ways, Lorraine Gough was one of them. They would spend hours on the phone, one over talking the other for hours. They did this repeatedly. Joann Parker and Ella had the benefit of working together and became fast friends. Such close friends that they would follow each other from job to job.
Ella enjoyed reading her bible, cooking, doing hair, and fashion. She was known for her sharp looks. She would spend many hours cooking for her family while listening to Otis Redding, James Brown and telling family stories. A task she really enjoyed doing with her grandson, Randy.
