I gained another set of grandparents when I married Joshua, and Jeanne and Lou were anything but stereotypical grandparents. They were deeply involved in the lives of their children and grandchildren in every way they could. They had passions, hobbies, and full, active lives, and they shared that energy with everyone around them for as long as they could.
When we told Gigi that I was pregnant with twins, her face lit up. As a mother of multiples, we shared a special bond, one few people truly understand. At the same time, I was in awe of her. She raised twins while also raising other children, something I had never experienced, and I treasured the stories and guidance she shared with me.
It is a blessing that my children have memories of her, memories that will continue to bring them comfort. I will miss Gigi deeply. She was my last grandparent, and I was incredibly lucky to have her.
