Elizabeth C. Lewis' Obituary
Elizabeth “Liz” Camille Lewis
Our Beloved, Elizabeth Camille Lewis, affectionately known as “Liz” of Annapolis, MD transitioned to be with the Lord, May 2, 2022 at home with her loving family. At any early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and enjoyed learning about the gospel. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Fowlers United Methodist Church on Bestgate Road in Annapolis.
Liz was born in Rock Point, MD to the late Claude and Leola Edelen. She loved country living, enjoyed the outdoors, fresh air, water and a beautiful view. Liz was educated in Charles County Public School and was a lifelong learner. She met and married the love of her life, the late Clifton Lewis Sr. and settled in Annapolis. They enjoyed time with their family, supporting community events and much more. Their union
lasted 53 years and they were a remarkable team. She worked side by side with her husband managing the family business and supporting his vision. They were a modern day “Power Couple”.
After retiring from the family business, Liz became a professional in-home care assistant who provided services and companionship to the elderly and adults with disabilities. This became her passion and she loved caring for her patients. She saw her role as care provider as an opportunity to display servanthood and shine the light of God. Liz had many side hustles and was a “BOSS” in her own right.
In the early days, Liz loved to entertain and would frequently host her in-laws and their friends from
Baltimore. They would flock to the party, eager to dance, chat and eat her signature “potato salad”
and other delicious foods. She had impeccable taste in furniture, loved window shopping and kept
a beautiful home. Liz loved music, fresh flowers and all things beautiful.
Liz loved her children and grandchildren and would brag about them often.
Liz’s presence and unconditional love will be cherished by her children: Rhonda Lewis-Smith (Earl), Lena Spark Anderson (Robert), Clifton Lewis Jr. (Juanita), Lisa Isom (Roger), Kathy Lewis Nock, Tony Lewis (Maria), Latitia Lewis, Mike Lewis and Kenny Butler (deceased). Her siblings include Margaret (Joe) - both deceased, Christine - deceased (Billy), Harvey - deceased (Ruth), Charles, James, Inez (Howard - deceased), Roscoe (Darlene), Joanne (Larue), Laura Jean, and Cynthia. Her grandchildren Stephanie, Corvell, Benjamin, Roger Jr, Brittany, Taylor, Tony Jr. (Amber), Lauren (Gus), Joshua, Caleb, Matthew,
Sabastien, and Ryan. She has nine adorable great grandchildren. Her sisters-in-law are Patricia Brown (Roger Sr. - deceased), Glendora Colbert (deceased), Vivian Hayes, and Evelyn Lewis (deceased), and her brothers-in-law are Norman (Helena “Sissy”Duppen) - both deceased, Arthur (deceased), and Bobby (deceased). And has a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Our dear Liz will be missed forever, but her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren,
great grandchildren and in the hearts of all who loved her.
The family would like to express special thanks and gratitude to Veronica Parker, Diamond Nottingham, Safya Caldwell, and Nora Rivas for their support in caring for our dear mother.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Joan Stillinger and the nursing assistants from Hospice
of the Chesapeake for their amazing support and professionalism.
