Einar Kenneth Amundsen's Obituary
Ken Amundsen, 78, passed away on November 12. He is survived by his wife Elinor, daughters Lori and Sheri, granddaughters Courtney and Brianne, their husbands Mike, Chris and Jon and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of the Academy of Aeronautics and Johns Hopkins University. Ken served his country as a member of the Naval Air Reserve and was activated during the Cuban Missile crisis as a P2V aircraft crewman. He worked as a Manager of Program Development for various defense contracting companies and retired in the 1990s.
Ken enjoyed volunteering with the Clothes Box at AAMC, Chesapeake Regional Accessible Boating (CRAB), his local community association, the Well Spouse organization and many others during his lifetime. He loved to sail on the bay with CRAB or as skipper of one of his remote-controlled sailboats. Ken was an artist, tinkerer and devoted family man.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, CRAB or St Martin’s Lutheran Church in Annapolis. A memorial service will be held at St Martin’s on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11am.
