Edward G. Raglin's Obituary
Edward “Ed” Raglin, aged 84, of Stevensville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Chesapeake on December 4, 2025. Born in Lovellan, Kentucky Ed lived a life marked by service, devotion and simple joys that reflected his warm spirit. He later relocated to Maryland where he joined the U.S Army in December 1963 proudly serving in Greenland. In April 1970, he married his beloved wife of 52 years, Helen “Bootsie” McLamb. Together they built a life in Glen Burnie until 1983 when they settled into their cherished waterfront home on the Chesapeake Bay in Stevensville.
Ed’s career as an over-the-road truck driver spanned more than two million miles across America. He embraced the independence of the open road, taking pride in his job with care and professionalism. In the later years of his career he specialized in driving tankers, realizing a lifelong dream as an owner operator before retiring in 2015.
Outside of work, Ed found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He had a fondness for classic television, especially Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show. A true sports fan, he held a special place in his heart for baseball. Each year, he eagerly anticipated the Little League World Series, watching with admiration the young athletes. In the spring and summer, while living at Regency Park, he loved watching the young players practice just outside his window—a pastime that brought him both comfort and a deep connection to the game he cherished.
Ed is survived by his son Donald McLamb; his daughter-in-law, Maria McLamb; and his close friend and confidant, Mrs. JoAnne Johnson. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen “Bootsie” Raglin; his parents, Everett and Capitola Raglin; and his brother, Gene Raglin.
Ed will be remembered for his steadfast devotion, his love of the open road, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.
