Edward J. Mick Jr.'s Obituary
Edward James Mick Jr., 87, of Severna Park, died of natural causes July 31 at his home.
Born in Baltimore on September 30, 1924, he attended Baltimore City public schools before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1942. After the war he married Carmella Lanzone of Mechanicville, NY. Edward attended the University of Baltimore and worked his entire career for Kraft Foods Corporation in various management positions.
He was a life member and past president of the Severna Park Kiwanis Club, He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion Post 40 and the Glen Burnie Elks, and was past president of the former Democratic Club of Severna Park. He was a former member of Chartwell Golf and Country Club, and a member of Saint John the Evangelist Church.
Edward and his wife traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. He was avid Baltimore Colts, Orioles and Ravens fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella and son, Edward James Mick III, both of Severna Park; his parents, Annie M. and Edward J. Mick Sr.; and sister, Doris Robrecht. He is survived by two daughters, Carmela M. Riley (Wm. Henry) and Shirley M. Murphy (Ray), both of Severna Park; and four grandchildren.
Services were private at Saint John the Evangelist in Severna Park. Contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake or the Wounded Warrior Project.
