Ed, like the rest of the Medeiros family, welcomed my family into theirs. During our visits or holiday celebrations over the years, he watched the fast-moving kids and everyone's interactions from his observation seat. When one of us sat beside him, he was glad to share his interests and wealth of knowledge about space and history. I recall his sense of humor and honest conversations. Ed would be in the middle of some serious topic and would interject a joke or goofy comment, perhaps to see if we were really paying attention :o} When he was receiving rehabilitation, Trish, Judy, Kyle, Hailey, and I visited him. He appeared happy to have the kids read and play card games with him. He laughed at their silly jokes and always listened to whatever books they chose to read. - Sarah Weller-Bentivegna

Ed would keep me up to date on the family and tell of his parents and times in California. He was always proud of the kids and would emphasize how they were excelling. Telling stories of schools, accounting, or drumming around the world made him happy.

Ed used to also tell the stories about the days prior he worked at CSC and at the observatories. I learned a lot about astronomy, and realized how much I didn't know, but it spurred me on.
I also learned a lot (whether I liked it or not ; ) about human nature in the stories of those he had worked with. I often felt like I was there in how he told them.
I learned about a young astronomer named Paul who was thin as a rail and would eat all these TV dinners. He told me about the bats that would attach to your legs, so you had to check frequently or wear boots. It was interesting to hear about his time at NASA where CSC had some great people and was doing stellar work.

We used to go out to Denny's before work and it was always a good time and a good way to start the day. He had his allotment from Judy, which he made the most of for eating out whether lunch or breakfast.
They were good days working at Prime where Ed and Roberta would fight like brother and sister, but he never held a grudge. I think he was providing a Monty Python service, even if Roberta hadn't paid.

There are so many memories I have of Ed, and appreciate how he brought me into his world, educated, and challenged me. I miss you buddy.

in honor of Edward.

I have so many memories of my father it has been very difficult to pick one. I have Memories of Dad telling stories of the history of "everything/insert topic here" type of stuff usually or stories of his youth, TV programs he just watched, and later in life, what he ate (Constantly and with enthusiasm!" So my first story is a little insight into a line in his obituary.

I came home from work one day and Dad was in his usual spot watching TV.
He said "come on in here and watch some TV with me," one of his usual comments to me, so i entered and sat.I then looked at my Dad after realizing he was watching SpongeBob. I simply started laughing, got up and went up to shower as he shouted up at me, "come on, lets watch some SpongeBob together" while smiling. After showering I came back down and asked what happened to SpongeBob, since he was now watching a History Channel Documentary,nand he replied with "It'll be on the same time tomorrow." then he winked and smiled

Every day I came home after that was the same "Come watch SpongeBob!" Always with a smile on his face. To this day I still don't know if he truly enjoyed the cartoon or if he was just messing with me to see my reaction.

I'll miss those silly moments.
