Edward James Almeida Jr.'s Obituary
Edward “Ed” James Almeida, Jr, age 75 of Annapolis MD and Nantucket, MA passed into eternal rest on February 2, 2026. He was the son of the late Edward Sr. and Marguerette (Roche) Almeida.
Ed was born on Nantucket Island and grew up in Raynham, MA, alongside two brothers and a sister. He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and built a lifelong career as a skilled Porsche mechanic.
Ed met his wife, Carol, 44 years ago and they shared a life marked by perseverance, partnership, and happy memories. Their early years were spent boating and vacationing on Nantucket and then they lived on the island for over 22 years. Together they built successful automotive businesses specializing in Porsche repair, first on the mainland (Dedham, Framingham) and later Nantucket. In 2022, they retired to Annapolis, MD.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carol (Gorzynski-Paul), along with his son Edward Almeida, III (wife Linda Watt, step-daughter Caitlyn Watt) and his step-daughter Melissa (Paul) Maevers (husband Karl). He also leaves behind his brothers Guy Almeida and Roger Almeida, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Melissa Almeida.
On March 14, 2026, family and friends are invited to visit Lasting Tributes Funeral Care - 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis MD 21401 between the hours of 10 AM – 12 PM. Memorial services will begin at 11:30 AM.
