Dorothy Esther Rondeau's Obituary
Dorothy Ester Rondeau, beloved wife of Lt. Col. Donald John Rondeau passed away quietly on July 28, 2018. Born in Rhode Island in 1932, she became a career military wife on June 9, 1955 and devoted her life to her husband and girls.
She is survived by three daughters, Kyle Ann Rondeau, Juliejon Rondeau, Candice Rondeau Darling, her granddaughter, who was her life, Sarah Elizabeth Rondeau and her son-in-law William Roger Darling, Sr.
Her legacy is best summed up by her daughter Juliejon...
“I know that many of you knew my mother. Passed a high school afternoon drinking tea in her kitchen. Rode in the big gray station wagon.
Some of you met her later, when she was somewhat mellowed by still quite fierce.
Some of you never met her, and I am sorry for you, because she was a remarkable force of nature.
Her stubbornness shaped my nature and saved my life. It wasn't always convenient but it often served us well. She frequently made me crazy but I adored her. And now she is gone.
If you're inclined, play some Sinatra, and drink a toast to Dottie's memory. She preferred a perfect Manhattan but feel free to have what suits you. She was a fine hostess and would want you to be happy."
Dorothy will be interred with Donald at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's name may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena MD 21122.
