Doreen Ann Donnell's Obituary
Reverend Doreen Ann (Dodie) Donnell, daughter of the late James H. (Buster) Donnell and Rev. Dr. Lucille F. Donnell, was born on August 11, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland At the age of 70, she entered her eternal rest suddenly on October 13, 2015 at her residence.
Doreen was a graduate of Wiley H. Bates High School, Class of 1963. She attended and graduated from the Cortez School of Business and the Washington Bible College.
In the late 1970’s, Doreen was ordained in the Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas. She later became the Pastor of New Samaria FBH Church in Annapolis, Maryland and Washington Temple FBH Church in Baltimore, MD. After she left her pastoral duties, she was affiliated with the Restoration Temple Church in Annapolis, MD and the Mobile Church Ministries in Clinton, MD. She was a member of New Shiloh FBH Church of God of the Americas in Allendale, DE. Doreen was consistently helping others as she continued to minister face to face, corresponding through the mail, email or the phone. Doreen was always helping out when and where needed, and could always be counted on to show others the way to eternal life, whether cooking, organizing or serving, she was there to help.
Doreen relocated to Washington, DC after graduation from high school. She worked for ARA Services in Bladensburg, MD for over thirty-five years. After retirement from ARA Services, she worked for Giant Food in Upper Marlboro, MD; Giant Food, Value City and the Capital in Annapolis, MD. She continued her ministerial work throughout her life. She loved to cook, read and help others. She will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, Doreen was preceded in death by her brothers: Aubrey, Lawrence, James W. and James R. Donnell, a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Thompson
She leaves to cherish her memory, 4 sisters: Shirley Butler (James), Viola and Tremaine Donnell, all of Annapolis and Louellen Donnell of Glen Burnie, MD; 3 brothers: Raymond, Douglas and Michael Donnell, all of Annapolis, MD. 1 aunt, Mrs. Carrie Dennis of Shadyside, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her favorite pet, Sydney.
