Donald Dambrauskas' Obituary
Donald Vincent (“Donny”) Dambrauskas of Laurel, Maryland, passed away December 14, 2024, He was 65.
Donny was born February 1, 1959, in Laurel to Al and Rita Dambrauskas. The youngest of 9 children, Donny was known for his warm heart and smile. With a big personality and a robust sense of humor, he quickly became friends with nearly everyone he met. Kind and gentle, Donny was always happy to help anyone at any time.
Donny attended St. Mary’s of the Mills elementary school in Laurel and Atholton High School, Columbia, Maryland. While in high school, he began working for a local car dealership where he learned to fix and paint cars and trucks.
Donny’s craftsmanship became readily recognized by customers, family, and friends, and he opened his own shop around 10 years later. Word of his talents in specialty paint detailing cars and motorcycles grew. Owners of street rods, motorcycles, and other vehicles came to appreciate his personalized service and exquisite attention to detail. Dozens of cars featuring his work were proudly displayed at area car shows over the next few decades.
In 2011, Donny moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he serviced golf carts for Golf Cart Sales and Service, LLC, in Goldsboro, Maryland.
Donny is survived by his six brothers and two sisters: Thomas (Laura) Dambrauskas of Naples, FL; Danny Dambrauskas of Laurel, MD; Kathleen Dambrauskas of Glen Burnie, MD; Patrick Dambrauskas of Milford, DE; Stephen Dambrauskas of Elkridge, MD; Martin Dambrauskas of Elkridge, MD; Mary D. Templin of Laurel, MD; and Michael Dambrauskas of Scranton, PA. He is also survived by his niece Laurie D. Lyba of Naples, FL; niece Carrie (Michael) Walker of Parrish, FL; nephew Daniel Templin of Baltimore, MD; and grandnephew Mason Lyba of Naples, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Rita (Payne) Dambrauskas of Laurel, MD.
Details regarding a memorial service will be announced soon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Donny’s name.
