Diane Marie Kozel's Obituary
Diane Kozel passed away August 4, 2023 in Annapolis, Maryland where she lived with her husband of 63 years, Thomas Kozel. She was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where she attended Dominican Catholic High School, Mercy College, and Wayne State University.
Diane and Tom moved to the Annapolis area in 1971 with their three children, Kelly Guy (married to William Guy), Colleen Large (married to Gary Large), and Christopher Kozel (married to Kecia).
Diane and her family enjoyed sailing and being active members of their community, Ulmstead Estates, on the Magothy River. She was a favorite piano teacher to both children and adults for many years. She also worked as an administrative assistant in both the psychological and financial fields over the years. After her retirement at age 71, she enjoyed her volunteer work at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Diane's greatest joys were her 63 years of marriage to Tom, her children, and her two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas. She treasured many dear and longtime friends, her faith and church, St. John Neumann Catholic Church, where she faithfully participated in the Eucharistic Adoration.
Diane always had a smile on her face and was a joyful soul, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted friend. She will be greatly missed.
