Devin Michael Collins' Obituary
Devin M. Collins, 44, of Waldorf, MD passed away May 7, 2016. He is survived by his longtime love Nelida Stevenson. Loving son of Valerie Collins of Annapolis, MD and Michael Collins (Stacey) of Severna Park, MD. Loving brother, Brian Collins of Cherry Hill, NJ. Many loving Aunts and Uncles: Kathleen & Tom McCormack, Dottie Collins (Jim), Barbara and Neil Grieco, Donald and Elaine Schmitt, and Kevin Schmitt. In addition to many adoring cousins and amazing friends. Devin is preceded in death by grandparents, Lee and Cyril Collins and Rosalie and George Schmitt; aunts and uncles: Cyril Collins, Mary Lee and Bill Stapert, Regina and Ken Bramley, and Dr. George R. Hughes.
Devin will be remembered for his contagious sense of humor and especially for his love of animals. Cute or creepy, he loved them all. Once, Devin found an injured snapping turtle in the road, shell crushed by a car. He gathered all the pieces into his truck and managed to find a wildlife expert to help save and put the turtle back together. An accomplished finish carpenter, Devin helped build many of the beautiful homes throughout Maryland.
A private funeral will be held in NJ Friday May 13th. At some point in the near future we will organize a memorial for Devin at Calvert Cliffs for friends and family in the Maryland area.
