Derek Eugene Dye's Obituary
Derek Dye also known as "D", born on June 24th, 1970, in Prince George's county, Maryland, passed away on December 24th, 2025, in Edgewater, Maryland.
Derek was a life long Marylander whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. He shared a close bond with his father Norman "Ed" Dye, cherishing the time they spent together. Derek also held a special bond with his sister Noel Kowalczyk and her sons, Seth and Gage Kowalczyk. His love extended to his fiancé Wendy Lee and her family- stepchildren Michelle Lee and her son Trevor Varnell; Kortney Lee; and Kimberly Leary (Richard Leary) with her children Abigail and Cameron Leary.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Charlotte Dye and his Brother-in-law Kevin Kowalczyk.
Derek had a playful spirit and a sweet tooth that never faded. He delighted in simple pleasures like Tootsie Rolls and Chuck E. Cheese cotton candy. Whether enjoying the thrill of a casino or relaxing at home with his beloved cat Leroy, Derek found joy in life's everyday moments.
His memory will live on through those who knew him best- family members who loved him deeply and friends who shared in his laughter. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
