De'Jah Marie O'Bryant Burrus' Obituary
De’Jah was born on May 26, 2004 to Rodella Blanks-Claggett and Thomas Burrus at Anne Arundel County Medical Center. She departed this life on July 13, 2025.
De’Jah was educated at Baltimore County public school where she attended YMCA HeadStart, Landsdowne Elementary School and then to Anne Arundel County public school where she attended Hilltop Elementary School, Lindale Middle School, North County High School. She received her diploma North County High. De’Jah was raised in a Christian home where she attended Light House Ministries Praise and Worship Church and also attended Kingdom Agenda (Freshstart).
De’Jah was a cheerleader for Andover Apache while attending Hilltop Elementary School. She also loved dancing and singing, being with family and friends, doing her hair and different styles, especially braids. She enjoyed traveling with her Mom but, only if she was going to treat her to something to eat, she enjoyed cooking and eating steak. She loved to also eat Takis and drinking Coca-Cola with her grandmother Evelyn. She always loved going to her aunt and uncle house where she would spend time with her cousins and take her grandmother‘s Belinda Pepsi. De’Jah had so many friends and family that truly enjoyed her company, She alwasy made herself known by announcing herself when she came through the door. She would say, “De’Jah’s home” or “Hey Fam.” As De’Jah got older she always wanted to learn how to drive and once she learned, she became an excellent driver, thanks to her brother Alondre. Her Brother Daveis always spoiled her by getting her a new pair of Jordans for her birthday, and De’Jah would always ask her Mom to contribute to her cause so she could go to an eatery. Her favorite eateries were Hip-Hop Chicken, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Wingstop, Chipotle, and Chick-fil-A. De’Jah was a hard worker and very strong minded. No matter what De’Jah did or whatever she tried to achieve, she always wanted her family and friends to be proud of her.
De’Jah leaves to cherish and her memory, her Mother, Rodella Blanks-Claggett; her Father, Thomas Burrus III; two Brothers, Alondre Claggett and Daveis Burrus; Grandmothers, Evelyn Matthews and Belinda Allen; and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, she also had lots of Friends that she treated as Sisters
that loved De’Jah dearly.
