David Henry Mackell's Obituary
David H. Mackell was born on March 27, 1927 in Harwood, Maryland to George and Alverta Mackell. He was the youngest of 14 siblings. David was in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946 before serving as a laborer at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. David was united in marriage with Ethel D. Chapman in 1948. He loved cooking and catering for family and friends; and enjoyed watching the television show Family Feud, and listening to quartet music.
David is preceded in death by sons Wayne, Carlton, and Kelsey Mackell; grandchildren Kelsey Mackell Jr., Kevin L. Slade, and Georgie Cutler; and siblings Maggie Sharps, Hester Jones, Julius Mackell, Whitfield Franklin, Rachel Hall, Oden Mackell, Fannie Chapman, Sam Mackell, Irving Mackell, William Mackell, George Mackell, Jr. Jim Brown, Susie Randall, William Brown, and Rachel Powell.
David leaves to cherish his memory two daughters Wanda M. Mackell and Daveen Green, both of Annapolis; sister Pauline Neal of Annapolis; sister-in-law Levinia McClendon of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren Jenean (Tony) Perry, Steven W.D. Mackell, Terrae (Gary) Brown, Jan Cutler, Jum-mor (Nakia) Mackell, Parren (Teresa) Green, Garrett Green, Terry Bright, Shana Sellman; daughter-in-law Sharon Mackell, great-grandchildren Jazmine Gray, Jayla Brown, Endia Matthews, Damarien T. Furbush, Kierra Watkins, Amiyah Mackell, Wayne D. Mackell, Jael Mackell, Kyanna Bright, and Lakeisha Perry; and special nieces and nephews Alice Wilson (caregiver), Nancy Johnson, Margaret Harris, Timmy Mackell, Jimmy Brown, Jr., Thomas Mackell and Bud Sharps.
