Daniel Bradley Haddock's Obituary
Daniel Bradley Haddock, born on December 18, 1968, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Riva, Maryland at 57 years old. He fought with incredible strength and determination after a cancer diagnosis in early 2025. To most everyone, he was Dan. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a colleague, a leader, and a friend in the most genuine, unique, loyal, humble way.
Dan graduated from Sherwood High School in 1986 and later attended St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after his years at college. His military education included Advanced Language Studies along with Leadership and other Strategic courses. Dan’s service in the U.S. Army included many challenging and dangerous environments; places you read about in headlines.
Dan was deployed overseas and later stationed in Germany. He described these years as the best years of his life. It was during his time in Germany that he fully explored his love of European culture, motorcycles, cars, and cuisine.
After his service in the military Dan continued to work and remained with the Defense Intelligence Agency for over 33 years. His leadership, mentorship, technical expertise, and his move forward approach were critical elements that ensured mission success throughout his career. He had many very close bonds with his wide circle of friends and colleagues. Although Dan was a jokester, he still had a blend of seriousness and understanding and possessed a quiet generosity. He was a master of the English Language, and an expert in foreign policy and current events. He was someone anyone could talk to as he had the gift of connection.
Dan is survived by his parents James and Janice Haddock, sister Jennifer Cox, nieces Shannon, Jillian, Julia, Joanna, nephew JD, and grandniece Emmy Jo. He also leaves behind cousins Amanda, Liza, Devin, and Bradley. He was preceded in death by his brother Jeff.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Annapolis SPCA. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery in Crownsville, MD on March 6 at 11:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to join us Friday, March 6th for a celebration of Dan’s life at his parent’s home in Annapolis from 1-3 PM. Please RSVP below.
