Dale Rather's Obituary
Dale Lee Rather of Annapolis, Maryland, peacefully passed away on February 8, 2017, at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland, after living 90 fulfilling years. He was born on June 17, 1926, in Wichita Kansas to Henry Dale and Mary Lee Rather. He was a loving husband and father, a successful businessman, an avid golfer, and a proud WWII veteran of the United States Navy. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Dale moved to California where he met his wife Nancy Elfstrom, raised his family, and lived the majority of his wonderful life. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dale is survived by his wife Nancy of whom he was married for 65 years, his three children and their spouses, Pamela Prickett, Michael Rather, and Patrick Rather, four grandchildren, and four great-children. To commemorate his life, a funeral service was held with family and friends in Annapolis on Friday, February 10.
