Clyde "Bud" Green's Obituary
Clyde C. Green, affectionately known as Bud, passed away Thursday, September 11 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
Bud was born in Cambridge, MD on July 31, 1922. He was the son of Clyde Constantine and Roxie Mae Green. Later the Green family moved to Baltimore City where Bud started first grade at PS #94. He graduated from Howard Street Vocational School.
After graduation, Bud went to work for Glenn L. Martin and shortly thereafter joined Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
On January 4, 1943 Bud joined the US Navy. He received his basic training at Ft. McGruder, VA. After basic training he was transferred to Camp Pendleton, CA and then to Oahu, HI. After spending 18 months in Guam, he was honorably discharged in November 1945.
Bud is survived by his wife, Peggy M. Holmes; stepsons, Bradley, Kevin (Patricia), and Stephen (Tammi); and niece Diana LeDonne. He was “Pop-pop” to Melissa, Hayley, Drew, Matthew, Joshua, and Elijah Holmes. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Edna LeDonne and Connie Bennion; and brother, Donald Green.
Throughout many years, Bud enjoyed the Baltimore Colts, Baltimore Orioles, golfing, and especially the camaraderie of his treasured poker “buddies.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bud’s name to Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, 29449 Charlotte Hall Road, Charlotte Hall, Maryland 20622, c/o Nursing Home Activities Dept.
