Clarence L. Blake's Obituary
Clarence L. Blake, 77, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is God Almighty, on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Clarence was born in Williamsburg, South Carolina, to the late Pearlise Blake and David Blake, Sr. Although South Carolina was his birthplace, he lived in North Carolina for much of his upbringing.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Frances D. Blake of 43 years; six younger siblings, daughters Marsha Woodland, Wilhelmina Fleet, Doris Brown (Thomas), Lendel Hough, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Clarence was an honest man who took pride in his work and always kept his word. He was employed by DPI Specialty Foods as a driver for many years; after retirement he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a driver. Throughout his driving career of more than 30 years, he maintained a perfect driving record.
Psalm 61
Hear my cry, O God: attend unto my prayer.
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever:
I will trust in the covert of thy wings.
Selah
For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.
He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.
