Christopher LaDante Vincent Sr.'s Obituary
Christopher LaDante Vincent Sr., the eldest of three children, was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 9, 1967, to Walter Holmes and Jackie Vincent-Holmes. He later moved to Burlington, North Carolina. Chris was a graduate of Hugh M. Cummings High School (Class of 1985) and attended Appalachian State College in Boone, NC, where he majored in Computer Science.
After two years of college life, he enlisted with the United States Army on March 2, 1988. With 15 years of service and the completion of three overseas deployments in Somolia and Korea, Sgt. Christopher Vincent was honorably discharged in 2003 with numerous medals and ribbons including the Joint Service Commendation medal, the National Defense Service medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary medal.
Before leaving the military, one night at the NCO Club, with the help of his friend Corey, he met his future wife. On October 7, 1995, Chris wed his best friend, Veronica. Three children later, they were two months shy of celebrating their 30-year anniversary.
After his military career, he began his full-time real estate career, quickly obtaining his real estate and broker licenses. He worked for Long & Foster, Exit Realty, before he eventually started his own realty company, Moss Vincent Properties (MVP) Realty, which managed and sold residential properties.
Chris was an active member of First Christian Community Church of Annapolis, where he was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel on September 28, 2003. One of Chris’ passions was God’s word and teaching it to others, which his Wednesday noonday Bible study reaped the benefits of for ten years. He also used the knowledge obtained during his military career to support the church’s media/videography ministry.
When he wasn’t trying to build his real estate business, he enjoyed photography, golfing, fishing, listening to music, attending live sporting events--especially basketball and baseball--and playing Poker with his mother when they were in the same town.
