In Loving Memory of Christopher Leonard Vetick,
Chris Vetick, beloved husband, brother, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 5, 1959, in the state of Nebraska to the late Leonard and Edelgard Vetick.
Chris lived a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and a profound dedication to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 36 years, Teresa, and together they built a foundation of love, trust, and unwavering support. Their love story serves as an inspiration to all who knew them.
As a father, Chris was a constant source of guidance and encouragement. He cherished his children, Chelsea and Dylan, and took great pride in their accomplishments. Chris’s nurturing spirit, combined with his genuine interest in their pursuits, helped shape them into the successful and compassionate individuals they are today.
Professionally, Chris enjoyed a fulfilling career as a respected Deputy Director of Capital Grounds and the Arboretum. For over three decades, he dedicated himself to achieving numerous certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist, Certified Horticulturist, APPA and a B.A. in Business Administration.
Outside of his work, Chris had a multitude of interests and hobbies. He was an avid gardener, spending countless hours with his wife nurturing his vibrant flower beds and cultivating a peaceful oasis. He also had a deep appreciation for music, often playing his favorite tunes on the speaker, which filled the house with good vibes that brought joy to all. Some of his happiest moments were spent at the Outer Banks surrounded by friends and family.
His sometimes stern and practical nature was outshined by his ability to be lighthearted and humorous which was witnessed by all including his loving sisters Stephanie and Scarlett.
Chris will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on July 20, 2023, at Lasting Tributes in Annapolis at 11am est.
Though Chris may no longer be with us, his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
