Chris Vondell Davis' Obituary
Chris Vondel Davis was summoned to his eternal resting place on 31January 2024, in Annapolis, Maryland.
Chris began his journey with life on July 1, 1956, in Davidsonville, Maryland. He received his formal education through the public schools of Anna Arundel County.
Flukey, as he was affectionately called, was well-loved and liked by many in the city of Annapolis. Also known as a jokester, his infectious spirit would draw many people into tears of laughter. Flukey stayed by his grandfather’s side and helped him to work the tobacco fields and on the hog farm. He later began working with the Annapolis City Governor’s Yacht as a Stewart, then later with the State of Maryland Highway Administration. He was a loyal employee until retiring after many years of service.
Chris was preceded in death by his son, Travon Davis; his beloved mother, Helen Dominick; his grandparents, Isaac and Ruth Johnson, Paul and Hester Davis; and his father, Wendell Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner Dorothy Tongue; His Son DeMario Davis of Washington DC; His siblings Vivian Walton (Terry) of Charles County, MD, Rev. Kimberly King (Joshua) of Hampton, VA, Marrio Dominick of Annapolis MD; His Dad Charles Dominick of Annapolis, MD; His granddaughter Jahkiiya Howard; His god-daughter Angel Melody; His aunts and uncles Delores Johnson, Dan Johnson of Annapolis, MD, Ginette Brown of Davidsonville, MD and Isaac Johnson Jr. of Pantego, NC; His nieces and nephews Carlos Rice, Darius Williams, Paige Brew, Joseph Sadler, Joshua King, Jessica King, Nygel King. His twice cousins Annett Powell and Ruby Singleton. A host of family, cousin, friends, and loved ones.
