Charles Levin Whittington's Obituary
Charles Levin Whittington, born on July 24, 1936, in Lothian, Maryland, to Daniel and Leola Whittington, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home in Annapolis, surrounded by his family.
Charles attended elementary school in Lothian, Maryland, and Wiley H. Bates High School in Annapolis, Maryland. He briefly served in the Army as a Military Police officer, worked as a glass mechanic at Miles Glass Company and also at Central Glass, Inc.
He leaves behind cherished memories with his loving wife of 34 years, Jeanette (Pat) Whittington, three sons: Charles Whittington, Jr. (Toni), Antonio Hall (Darnita), and Juan Herndon (Brena), and five daughters: Bernice Bell, Leona Whittington, Rochelle Whittington, Danielle Whittington, and Pam Kerrick (Shelby). One sister, Mary Katherine Duff, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, John Brother McGowans (Norma), sister-in-law, Edna McGowans, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10-11 am at Sollers United Methodist Church in Lothian, MD with his Homegoing Celebration Service beginning at 11 am. Interment will immediately follow at 1:30 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Annapolis, MD.
