Charles "Glen" Tasker's Obituary
Early Life and Education
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart. — Jeremiah 1:5
Charles “Glen” was born to the late Charles “Pole” O. Tasker and Alice “Sis” Louise Mackell Tasker Brown in Edgewater Md on March 6, 1944. He peacefully departed this life on January 29, 2026, at Hospice of the Chesapeake. His parents moved from Edgewater to Parole, MD, when he was young. He attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools. He received his elementary education at Parole Elementary School and completed high school at the Wiley H. Bates High School, Class of 1962.
Spiritual Journey
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” — Psalm 122:1
At an early age Glen started his spiritual journey at Hope St. Mark United Methodist Church in Edgewater, MD., where he became a committed life-long member. Through his dedication and faithful service to God, he was a member of the Trustee Board and the Men’s Choir.
Career and Work Ethic
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord and not unto men.” — Colossians 3:23
Glen was employed by Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman Electric Company in Annapolis and retired in 2006 after 38 years of committed service. Glen worked hard to provide for his family. Additionally, while employed at Westinghouse/Grumman, he organized and coached the first female softball team, which finished second in Anne Arundel County their first year.

A quiet, peaceful, hardworking man of a few words, Glen had many interests and activities. He was dedicated and proud member of the Rising Sun Lodge #46. We, the People Social Club, PWTJs, Keydown CB Radio Club, Lost in the 50’s Car Club, and MD Capital Sams RV Club are a few. Glen volunteered at the Annapolis Senior Center and Meals on Wheels. He and his wife sponsored Midshipman through the Naval Academy Plebe Program.
Hobbies and Passions
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4
Glen had a passion for restoring and driving antique cars. He attended and competed in car shows and received many trophies. He enjoyed watching westerns and traveling. He and his wife they traveled to Canada and throughout the United States and missed only 9 states.
Service and Devotion to Family
A faithful man will abound with blessings.” — Proverbs 28:20
Glen diligently but quietly served inside and outside the church. No task was too large or too small. If he saw a need, he made himself available. Uncle Glen or “Unc” as he was affectionately called, was dedicated to his family, nieces and nephews.
Cherished Family and Friends
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
Preceding Glen in death are his parents, Charles Tasker and Alice Tasker Brown, infant brother Marshal Tasker; sister Beverly Ann Tasker Downs; brother-in-law James (Bater) Downs and niece Constance Downs.
He leaves to cherish a multitude of memories with his wife of 61 years, Catherine (Sue), Daughter Delta Wells (Vincent), grandson Branden V. Wells, Niece Carla Downs, Nephew Michael Downs (Lynda), Great niece Nicola Edwards (Ian), Great-great nephew Terrell and nieces Imani and Sahjada. His God Children Monique Willard and Damisi Price also have countless memories. Devoted cousin Gail Greenleaf and Sister-in-Law Gaylee Jones held a special place in Glen’s heart. Special friends Matthew and Caroline Contee, John (deceased) and Nora Brown, Willie and Deborah McCorvey of Texas, Dennis and Sylvia Whittiker, Strother Washington, Albert Harris, the Community friends on Corbin Parkway and Brett Court in Rolling Hills, and countless relatives and friends were integral parts of his precious circle.
