Charles Edward Sartain's Obituary
Charles Edward Sartain, age 76, of Bowie, MD, known to his friends and family as Eddie, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014.
Eddie was born on April 18, 1937 to Clarence and Adelaide Sartain, and older siblings Clarence Jr. and Doris, in Washington, DC.
Eddie enjoyed swing dancing, playing poker and yahtzee, and watching the Washington Redskins play. He was also an avid reader.
Eddie is survived by his daughter, Michele Sartain of Hanover, MD; his grand-daughters: Jennifer Monaghan of Edgewater, MD; Kimberly Archer of Springfield, VA; and Melissa Witten of Alexandria, VA; as well as three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his shih-tzu Big Jake.
A memorial service will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD, 21401 on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a memorial service beginning promptly at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association (www.alsa.org) in honor of Michele’s younger brother Robert, or Boy’s Town (www.boystown.org), a charity that Eddie often supported.
