Charles Henry Moulden Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Henry Moulden Sr., affectionately known as “Cotton,” was born on December 17, 1947, in Cumberstone, Maryland, to the late James and Thelma Harris Moulden. He was the second born of fourteen children and spent most of his life between Annapolis and Galesville, Maryland.
Charles was educated in the Anne Arundel County Public School System and graduated from Wiley H. Bates High School in 1965. Following graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1968. During his honorable service in the Vietnam War, he received four medals of honor in recognition of his bravery, dedication, and commitment to serving his country.
On May 3, 1980, Charles married the love of his life, Patricia Thomas. Together, they shared 46 beautiful years of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him.
Charles dedicated 35 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2006. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time doing the things he loved most watching westerns and sports, cheering for his favorite teams, the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Commanders, going to the casino, playing cards, and enjoying crabs with family and friends.
For the past six years, his daughter Kimberly lovingly helped care for him, showing unwavering dedication, compassion, and love. On May 18, 2026, Charles peacefully made his journey to Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Thelma Harris Moulden; his sisters, Doretha Moulden and Sheila Mackell; and his brothers, James “Butch” Moulden Jr., Frank “Frankie” Moulden Sr., Theron “Roni” Moulden, and Dennis Moulden Sr.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and unforgettable memories that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Patricia Thomas Moulden, His sons Corman Lee Leonard (Lawanda), Charles “C.J” Moulden Jr, and one daughter Kimberly “Nikki” Moulden. 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. 3 Brothers Jeffrey (Brenda), Victor Sr. (Melanie), Brian Sr. (Deneen), 4 sisters. Carol, Carmela, Pamela and Patricia Moulden. His devoted friends Marshall Hall and Maurice Scott, Wendell Williams Sr., Sean Wallace, Fulton Carroll, neighbor Pity Pat. And a host of family and friends.
