Charles Edward Harried Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Edward Harried, Sr. affectionately known as “Bab Boy” was born on June 5, 1944, in Baltimore, MD., to the late William Harried and Mary Ellen Watkins Harried.
He was educated at the Ralph J. Bunche Elementary School and graduated with the Wiley H. Bates High School class of 1962.
Charles began his career after graduation with Sears as a HVAC technician and later with the US Postal Services as a mail clerk. He later served in the United States Navy from 1965 – 1971, in the Vietnam War. During his military service he received numerous awards and medals.
He was also a successful businessman who owned and operated “Charlies After Six HVAC Company” for many years. This company allowed for him to provide mentorship and training for several young men and to meet numerous friends. Charles was a go getter and put himself wholeheartedly into anything he pursued.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William & John Harried: sister, Mary Ellen Brent; daughter, Culette Harried; grandparents, Lawrence & Rachel Sellman Harried and McKinley, Elizabeth and Ruth Watkins.
Charles was married to the former Corrine V. Crittenton in 1965 and from this union, one son was born, Charles Edward Harried, Jr. He later was married to the late Earthalene Harried and the late Regina Harried.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Charles Harried, Jr. (Janet); two brothers, Sherman Harried and Leandre Harried (April); two sisters, Nora Brown (John) and Dorothy Harried. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charles was also surround by a circle of specials friends: Vickie Hall, Sandra Tolson, Tina Hinnant, Olivia Hardison, Dee Dee Dennis, Regina Stansbury, Marvin Smith, Lemuel Cotton, April Brown, Marvin Dorsey, John Brown, Leon Lody, Margay Washington, Montgomery, Nolan Smith and his dog – Drex.
