It devastates me to just discover today the loss of my beloved brother Chad Atchison. The world lost a true warrior, genuine soldier of Christ, who inspired others in his presence. Life will never be the same without you here...never again a chance to share time together, or thank you again for everything, in person, on Earth, as friends. But I trust, in Jesus' name, you know all my thoughts now, as the man and friend I deeply admired.
Honestly, I never met a more beautiful, brilliant example of Jesus, even among my luminous law school peers than this courageous, cerebral young man, in the Holy Spirit and leadership he exuded.
Beyond his inexplicable intelligence, a resplendent rhetorician evidenced from incisive questions, spearheading insightful classroom discussions, facilitating dynamic, didactic discourse to trigger learning, Chad most prominently reflected the wisdom of God with ineffable joy. He possessed a profoundly positive, contagious enthusiasm, free-spirited love of life, and optimism unlike anyone I ever met, rejoicing always in everything with perfect contentment. Even amid adversity, Chad always appeared imperturbable. He led by example, and never showed himself anything less than up-beat in every circumstance.
Indeed, Chad made all of us smarter, wiser, maturer disciples of Jesus through his Godly example. From the very first time we met, during our initial weeks at Liberty, Chad encouraged me, as a brother, with prayerful love, support, and fellowship. If anyone needed a friend, or listening ear, Chad was always there to selflessly serve. If anyone wanted to enjoy quality friendship, or catch a quick lunch at Friday's during the summer, Chad volunteered his time. If you needed a mentor, godly guidance, or someone to hold you accountable, Chad was the man! He gave all of himself to always help others in whatever the situation entails. He was there through it all....and is here, now, inextricably intertwined in our souls.
Ultimately, Atchison paid the ultimate price, like our living God Jesus Christ, selflessly sacrificed himself for our enjoyment in his presence.
Therefore, while saddened beyond words, I look forward to celebrating Chad, as the brother, friend, disciple, and man of God who lives eternally in me.
Chad quintessentially epitomized Christ words, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13. He "fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. You are a true Champion of Christ!
Thank you, Chad Michael Atchison, for the utter privilege and honor to know you, personally, in Christ. Thank you for all we shared, and I look forward to seeing you once more, Jesus willing, someday in Heaven.
We will forever miss you Chad...This world will forever miss you! But Christ ordains an exceedingly special purpose for Jesus to take you home with him, so soon. Someday I shall meet you there, my friend.
Eternally,
In Jesus' name,
Michael Staib
