Celestino Casillas' Obituary
Celestino Casillas, age 93, died of natural causes on July 11, 2021, at home in Heritage Harbour, Annapolis, Maryland.
Celestino is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Carol Casillas, his children Adrian Casillas (Sandi) and Christina Thompson, step-children Tom Bach (Dawn), Brian Bach (Jenn), and Joy Malloy, 13 grandchildren, two great granddaughters, as well as three sisters and a host of nieces and nephews in Mexico City.
Celestino is preceded in death by his first wife Clara Hodnick who passed in 1981, and his grandson Maxwell Scott Casillas.
Celestino was born on July 29, 1927 in Los Angeles, California to parents Celestino and Jovita Hernandez Casillas. He graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Mexico and completed his residencies at various hospitals in the Baltimore area.
Dr. Casillas, affectionately known as “Dr. C” by many colleagues and patients, worked in various positions for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for the state of Maryland from 1960-1991. He had a full time psychiatric practice in Severna Park from 1965 until 1977, worked as a Psychiatric consultant for Anne Arundel Mental Health clinic from 1966 until 1991, and was Board Certified by the American Psychiatric Association in Psychiatry and Neurology in 1962.
