Catherine "Sue" Tasker's Obituary
**As we journey through this life, we walk by faith and not by sight, trusting that every step, every crossing, and every unknown road leads us closer to the home God prepares for us.
Sent from Heaven: August 23, 1939 – Bound for Glory: March 20, 2026**
Catherine, affectionately known as “Sue,” began her earthly voyage on August 23, 1939, in Annapolis, Maryland, born to her loving parents, the late John W. Pindell and Rosetta V. (Hall) Pindell. After 86 remarkable years journeying through life’s many landscapes, she received her final boarding call and peacefully departed this world on March 20, 2026, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Early Pathways & Spiritual Journey
Her earliest stops included her education in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and her graduation from Wiley H. Bates High School, Class of 1957. Along the way, she made meaningful layovers in her spiritual journey. She first attended Fowler U.M. Church, where she became a leader for the MYF, a member of the Women’s Society, and a devoted choir member. Later, she joined Calvert Fellowship under the leadership of the late Rev. Jeffrey Smith, serving faithfully as a Trustee, a member of Community Outreach, and the adult leader of the Alpha and Omega Youth Group. Always eager to deepen her spiritual itinerary, she studied at Chesapeake Bible College and was a dedicated Bible study attendee.
A Love Story That Traveled Far
One of the most beautiful destinations on her journey was meeting the love of her life, the late Charles “Glen” Tasker, at Rainbow Cleaners. Their love blossomed into a lifelong partnership — a 61 year marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and shared adventures.
Hobbies, Career and Life’s Joys
Sue’s personal life was filled with joy and curiosity. She loved reading, crafting, shopping, and journaling. She was an avid watcher of “The View,” judge shows, and game shows. Always ready for an outing — especially if the food was “hot enough” — she embraced every opportunity to explore her inner foodie. She especially loved to travel, with her favorite mode of travel being by RV with her beloved Glen, journeying across the United States and Canada and visiting more than 40 states and provinces. Her final trip was to New Orleans in 2025 to celebrate her great niece Morgan’s graduation from Tulane University, where she even enjoyed her first Uber ride.
Professionally, Sue charted a steady career at Anne Arundel General Hospital, beginning as an Operating Room Technician and later promoted to Sterile Processing Supervisor before retiring in 1998.
Throughout her journey, Sue gave generously. She contributed to many charities, loved volunteering at Sarah’s House, sponsored Midshipmen through the Naval Academy Plebe Program with Glen, and was a proud member of the Annapolis Red Hat Queens and the MD Capital Sams RV Club.
Those Who Journeyed Before Her
Awaiting her at her final destination are her husband of 61 years, Glen; her parents, John and Rosetta; and her siblings Sonja (Betty), John Jr. (Butch), and Eleanor.
Those Who Continue the Journey
As the respected matriarch of the family, Sue’s presence was a guiding compass. She leaves behind treasured memories with her daughter Delta, son in love Vincent, and her cherished grandson Branden — whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her sister Gaylee Jones, sister in law Betty Pindell, godchildren Monique Willard and Damisi Price, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and cousins with each one holding a special place in her heart.
Her journey was enriched by special friends Goldie Oden; John (deceased) and Nora Brown; Vanessa Turner; Willie (deceased) and Deborah McCorvey; Dennis and Sylvia Whittiker; and the communities of Corbin Parkway and Brett Court in Rolling Hills, as well as countless other friends and family who were all blessings in Sue’s life and deeply loved.
Final Destination – Glory
Now, with her earthly itinerary complete, Sue has arrived at her eternal destination — a place with no delays, no turbulence, and no goodbyes. Her passport is stamped, pages are full, and her arrival is celebrated in Heaven.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness…”
— 2 Timothy 4:7–8
A public viewing will be held on Thursday, April 2 2026 at First Christian Community Church from 10-11 am. Her funeral service will begin at 11 am with burial to immediately follow at Bestgate Memorial Park.
