I just learned of Cassandra's passing a few days ago, and am still in shock. I am deeply saddened. We met in 2008 at the Arabic summer program at Beloit College and little did I know then that she would become one of my best friends. In 2012, we traveled together to Jordan where we continued to study Arabic. Memories of our times together have been flooding back these past couple of days and all I can say is that I'm so thankful she was a part of my life. I hope she knew how much our friendship meant to me. She was a good soul who cared for others. She was smart, inquisitive and had an infectious laugh. We will never forget you, Cassandra.

(My apologies, I just found out this tragic news)
Cassandra was my mentor while I was interning at Palladium in the summer of 2024. I was extremely lucky to be paired with her. I could share my curiosities about MEL work and also ask everything about being queer while working in the international development sector. Cassandra was so receptive to all the small rambles I gave her. She did everything she could to make me understand new concepts I was learning. And she supported me in all the improvements I was making along the way in my internship. She made me feel like I belonged in that career path.

I am still processing this loss of life. I started looking at my notes from all the one-on-one sessions we had. She shared so much for me to apply into my professional and personal spheres that I'll continue to cherish. Thank you so much, Cassandra. Rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with and then supervising Cassandra at Palladium over the last 2 years. She was such fun to work with and was always quick with a laugh, open to any new and interesting assignment, and always thinking about how to grow and do more. I will sorely miss her laugh and good cheer and she will remain an indelible part of my fond memories of Palladium.

One time during a company meeting Cassandra stood up and said she had always wondered what having a brother would be like; but after working at the company with the young techs for a while, she realized that she was glad she didn't have a brother. It cracked me up.

My thoughts and prayers are with Cassandra's family and her beloved wife and family. Cassandra was one of my best friends since high school and I don't think I could have made it through without her friendship, which always made me feel very valued. She was truly ahead of her time and a world-changer. She is the smartest person I've ever met and had so many wonderful talents that she shared with others in a courageous way. It's hard to imagine going through life without her but I know my love for her will continue and her spirit will always be in my heart. Thank you, Cassandra, for being a constant friend and for teaching me how to love.
