Carolyn Ann Violett's Obituary
Carolyn Ann Violett, 78, passed away on August 18, 2025, of natural causes. Carolyn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to George Straka and Elizabeth O’Keefe (Straka). Carolyn was preceded in passing by her husband of 57 years, John Violett and her sister, Sarah Brady. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Boyle, her children Denise Hoffman-Cantrell, George Violett, and Kristen Goldstein, and her grandchildren, Brandon Hoffman, Ryan Cantrell, Nicole Cantrell, Emily Goldstein, Rebecca Violett, Mitchell Violett, and Bethany Goldstein. After a fulfilling career as an HR professional for the USDA, Carolyn retired to Florida and found joy in the little things like reading books, putting puzzles together, playing BINGO, traveling with family, spending time with friends, and some light gardening. A celebration of her life will be held at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401 on September 13, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00. Her family will be present to welcome loved ones. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
