As many are preparing to say goodbye and celebrate your life I'm taking the time to reflect on our time together. Not many people can say their Aunt/God-Mother lived directly in the apartment upstairs from their family. It's pretty cool to be able to walk a few short steps and hang out with your Aunt and cousins that were more like siblings than cousins. My Aunt Carol was truly funny and could always find the humor in almost anything and any situation. On top of being hilarious she was also loving and never made me feel like an outsider or I had to compete for her approval or love. If I called and told her I didn't have something she would make away to get me what I needed no questions asked. She took her God-Mother title very serious! Fun Fact, my Aunt introduced my Mom to my Dad back in the day. Given it’s Black History Month another fact was my Mother & Aunt were volunteers during the 1963 March on Washington.
Aunt Carol you've left me with so many beautiful and wonderful moments and memories. I will never forget all them wild and crazy stories about you and my Mom on y'all "Thelma and Louise" adventures!! Thank you Tanya and your family for all that you've done over the years to enrich Aunt Carol's time here on earth. Love you Aunt Carol and I'm going to truly miss you!!!
Love Always Tarra
