Carol Winifred Sheila DiCanio's Obituary
Carol W.S. Dicanio, 77, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on June 1, 2026, following a long illness.
Born on December 20, 1948, in Cornwall, England, Carol was the daughter of Leslie Tretheway and Sheila (Cropper) Tretheway. Following her education, she proudly served as a dental assistant in the Royal Air Force.
While stationed at RAF St. Mawgan in England, Carol met the love of her life, James “Jim” Dicanio. The couple married on April 12, 1969, at St. Just-in-Roseland, Truro, Cornwall, England, and shared 57 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and family.
In the summer of 1984, Carol and Jim relocated to Annapolis, Maryland, following Jim’s assignment to the United States Naval Academy. Carol built a life centered on her family and friendships and was known for her strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Dicanio; her son, Jimmy Dicanio; and three cherished grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Carol’s life will be held at a later date at Lasting Tributes Funeral Care.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
