Carl George Love's Obituary
Carl George Love, 89, of Annapolis, MD passed away on May 19, 2017. Carl was born in Chicago, Illinois. He continued on to complete his undergraduate degree at Wooster College, a graduate degree in Chemistry at Rochester University, and his Juris Doctorate at George Washington University. During his educational years, he served the United States Army for two years at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
Carl excelled in his career and was an esteemed Intellectual Property Litigator. He was a Managing Partner at Cushman Darby & Cushman, and had many significant court victories. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, photography, gardening, and skiing. Though he had a wide variety of hobbies, his passion was sailing. In 1985, Carl captained a Trans-Atlantic Crossing of a 38’ Sloop from South Hampton, England to the Chesapeake Bay. Carl had a special love of the Chesapeake Bay, which he sailed for over 60 years.
Carl is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 44 years; two children, Doug and Sharon; and nine grandchildren: Kevin, Kyle, Hayley, Mike, Connor, Brooke, Pierce, Carly, and Brian. Carl was preceded in death by two children, Vicki and John.
