Bonnie S. Rawlings' Obituary
Bonnie Susan (Sue) Rawlings, 58, life long resident of Annapolis, died peacefully December 21, 2012 from her battle with breast cancer.
She was born to the late Perry Russell Thomas and the late Bonnie Workman Thomas on March 30, 1954. She attended Annapolis Senior High school where she graduated in 1973. Shortly after graduating, she married her husband Melvin E. (Butch) Rawlings on June 15, 1973.
Bonnie loved being outdoors whenever she could, doing her gardening, helping out the neighbors with their yard work, helping her husband restore antique cars and attending car shows. She was an avid collector of Lionel Trains, and loved German Shepherds. She will be remembered most for putting others first and for being a child care giver to her nieces and nephews and the neighborhood children. When they all grew up Bonnie then began work in the retail world from Montgomery Wards, Value City, and Burlington Coat Factory all in Annapolis. Before getting sick Bonnie was a food service provider for Anne Arundel County public schools. Through out her work force journey Bonnie made a lot of friends, whom she considered family.
In addition to her husband, Melvin, Bonnie is survived by her daughter Melissa Martin, of Jessup. She also has three brothers, Arthur Thomas of PA, Frank Thomas of Sc, John Thomas of Lusby, and one grand-daughter Emily Martin. Bonnie not only leaves behind all her brother/sister in-laws but many nieces and nephews and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday Jan 5 2013 at New Journey Church of God located at 10 South RiverClubhouse Rd in Edgewater Md. From 2pm to 4pm.
The family is asking for any donations to help with funeral costs if possible. Please send all donations to 7810 Clark Rd D51 Jessup Md 20794.
