We all loved Bill Dobbins. When I was sick and could not tell my mother, Bill took me to the doctor and stood by me. I recall fondly the Saturday afternoons through childhood going to Billy's and watching old films, playing games, and talking. He was super book smart and taught me lots of science. He will be missed.
Tears are rolling down my cheeks after having known him since we were little children.
When up in Maryland Helping my mom through her breast cancer fight for a year and a third we got back in touch.
One night when mom was in the hospital and it was snowing, he kept her company for many many hours. Mom flagged the nurse, when she inquired, "Oh he's like one of my own kids, she insisted he call her "mom" as well as his mom passed away when we were little.

Bill was a truly a member of our team's family. Seeing him was always a highlight of the day as we shared pretzels and talked about the day. Condolences to your family. Our "Speedy" will always be missed.

I will miss seeing Bill every week as well - it was always a bright spot in my day. The best word I can think of to describe him is jovial. Very soft spoken but very sweet and always happy. I remember that he was glad when I got switched to a certain project because the guys there never answered their phones when he called to drop off the mail.
My prayers are with his family.
Bill used to stop by the site once a week for 2.5 years and I don't think he missed but maybe 3 deliveries. He was reliable, caring, and I have never seen him not try to make everyone around him smile no matter how his own day was going - Even on days where his car broke down, his cell phone died and he did not have a dime in his pocket to pick up a lunch, he still found something positive to talk about.. Almost two months later, it still has not entirely sunk in it seems that he really won't be back as every time I see a van that looks like his my heart still jumps with joy and I try to see whether it is him driving it, so I can waive at him and see his goofy smile.. Still waiting for him to be back each week..
I cannot even imagine how hard him leaving is for you and am very sorry for your loss..
I also worked with Bill. He was always so very kind to me and never allowed me to lift heavy packages. I can still see him in the kitchen grabbing a bagel - always on the move! I will miss him. I want you to know how very much he was appreciated here by all of us. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Marilyn
Bill worked with our company doing deliveries and we would often speak of the weather, he loved those overcast and rainy days. I will think of his now every time I encounter one. I'm so sorry for your loss. Mary
