Betty Louise Adams' Obituary
Betty Louise “Miss B, Betty Boops, Head” Adams, 66, a resident of Annapolis for 66 years, died on January 27, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Jacob A. Adams and Lucille B. Adams.
Betty was born February 12, 1949 in the Browns Wood section of Annapolis, where she attended Parole Elementary School and later went to Annapolis Senior High School. Betty had various jobs: Diana Shop, The Health Department, helping her Mom with daycare for family members while they had to work, and working at the Annapolis Parks and Recreation at the Pip Moyer Center. Betty had been employed with the city for 13 years.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the Casinos. She joined Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church at an early age and was a member of the Young Adult Choir. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and watching game shows. Surviving Betty are two children: Oscar D. Henson, Jr. and Evon L. Henson; a granddaughter, Lexus A. Henson; 4 adopted grandchildren: Savanna, Courtney, Mercedes, and Lola; 2 sisters: Rosemary Adams of Annapolis and Lucille Jefferson of Pennsylvania; 2 brothers: Arthur J Thomas and Ronny Adams of Annapolis; three sisters-in-law: Lester, Juanita, Yvonne; 2 brothers-in-law: Charles H. Powell, Sr. of Annapolis and Robert Allen of Columbia, PA; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 aunts: Thelma Cornish and Elaine Hunt; a very devoted friend: Thomas Offer; 3 special friends: Cecelia Avery, Lenorise Johnson, and Wanda Lee Coates. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob A. Adams and Lucille B. Adams; 2 brothers: Bruce Thomas Adams and royal J. Adams. Betty leaves behind many friends, co-workers, and family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 between the hours of 9:30 am and 10:30 am at Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church, 657 Broadneck Road, Annapolis, MD 21409. A wake will begin at 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
