Bette Kittel Rimsky, 73, of Annapolis passed from this life to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born on September 13, 1946 in Wayne, NJ she was the daughter of the late Erich and Ch Read Obituary
A gentle spirit and a good friend. Spent many years as flower show buddies, catching up and taking in the beauty. What a lovely presents to all who knew you.
We share in the sadness of Bette's sudden loss and are left with the warm memories of our annual dinners in Marco Island during February. Bette's patience with my and Jerry's discussions about our fathers who were brothers, and their and our lives growing up In Duquesne in the shadows of the blast furnaces, accompanied by smells and smoky haze of from the blast furnaces was simply amazing, especially so as we talked about my Uncle Curly's service and exploits with Patton's Third Army during World War II for hours on end. Our love of history and reading enabled us to reconnect many years after we left childhood behind and set forth on new and different paths, and ironically it was in Marco that we we refreshed our relationship. Sitting through all this was Bette and my wife, Mary Lou, smiling amiably while undoubtedly harboring thoughts of "do we have to listen to this again?"
Bette was a trooper and obviously shared Jerry's love of travel; who wore her love for Jerry and devotion to family proudly.
We will miss seeing her smile and we pray for Jerry's strength during these difficult times and we are thankful that Andrea and Steve, and now especially Andy who willl be there to comfort and help Jerry navigate a course of healing through sorrow. Not an easy task!

I'm a part of a Bridge group and golf friend of Bette! We were also neighbors. My heart goes out to the family and friends at this unexpected passing. She was a gentle and considerate person who will be missed.
I have so many happy memories of Betty Jane while we were at Hiram College. In February Jerry and Betty Jane stayed with us for two nights in Jacksonville Beach, FL, en route to Marco Island to host two other Hiram classmates. The four of us had such a good time. Lots of laughs. I feel blessed that we had this time together. The news of Betty Jane’s passing is such a sad shock. Both Chris and I send our deepest condolences to Jerry. Linda Felker

Bette Rimsky made a difference in life. She made a difference in the lives of everyone who knew her. Bette set examples of dignity, honesty, and showing clarity in what she said and did. Bette knew herself and shared her talents willingly.
Bette was in our book club for ten years. We could always count on the books Bette suggested as being interesting, enlightening and insightful. Bette never clamored for talk-time or attention at our monthly book club. When she voiced her opinions, they were well-founded, offered with deep and wide perspective. She hosted book club in their beautiful home once a year, and she was an unassuming gracious hostess. Her home was beautiful and comfortable. When Bette led a book discussion we learned and gained from her research and knowledge.
One could guess that Bette was an excellent teacher by profession. Her attention was on inclusion, fairness, leading the curiosity of others, with an openness to diverse opinions. Bette was interested in others while being a private person. If you were in her realm she had time for you.
Most of us who have come to live in Heritage Harbour, an over-55 community, came from other places as did the Rimsky’s. Friendships made in new retired lives became important to Bette and Jerry and to all of us. On the golf course, in our book club, and at social gatherings Bette will be greatly missed. Her smile was like a light, welcoming and bright. We will remember her with fondness. Pat Reagan
