Barbara Ann Plamondon's Obituary
Barbara Ann Plamondon was born on December 1, 1945 in Fall River, MA. to Antonio and Jeannette Boudria. She was the youngest of three sisters; Mildred Sevigny and Yvette Marchand have since passed away. Barbara attended Jesus Mary Academy in Fall River where she met Edward Plamondon. She left Fall River to attended Catholic University and became a teacher at Tansey Elementary. After four years she and Ed were reunited and eventually married on July 12, 1969. They moved to Maryland and had two children, Joy and Kevin. Barbara was a devoted mother and was very involved her church. Barbara and Ed were founding members of Faith Community Church in Gambrills. They both taught Sunday school and Barbara made countless meals for those in need. She never met a stranger and always had kind words and an open heart for everyone she met. When her children started high school Barbara joined the Activities Department at the Crofton Convalescent Center. She had found her calling. In a short time, she was promoted to Assistant Director where she made sure that every resident felt her love and compassion. When her grandson Devyn was born she loved to bring him to see the residents because he brought them (and her) such great joy. A few years later her granddaughter Arianna was born. She and Ed spent their free time with their grand children. Barbara truly had a gift for making everyone in her life feel important and treasured. After over 16 years of working at the center, Barbara was diagnosed with Alzhiemers. She retired and enjoyed her life with her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She made trips to the beach in Ocean City, Broadway shows in New York and to visit family in Massachusetts. A few years into retirement she was also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Ed took his wedding vows very seriously and stepped in as her primary caregiver. He is a true testament of what a devoted and loving husband should be. Ed took care of her every day for 13 dedicated years. He maintained her dignity and showed us all what unconditional love really means. After a long battle, Barbara passed away on January 22. Heaven gained an angel that day. Barbara will be forever remembered for her beauty both inside and out, her infectious laugh, her compassion, her loyalty, her kindness and her devotion to her family. Barbara is in God's arms, whole once again with her wonderful memories surrounded by loved ones who went on before her.
