BARBARA HANNAH LARSON, February 11th, 1936 ~ December 26th, 2020
Barbara H. Larson, of Millersville, MD, passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2020. Barbara was born on February 11th, 1936 to her loving parents Mr. Ellsworth Earl Minchen and Mrs. Angeline Dorothy Alamo.
Barbara grew up in Buffalo, NY and studied English and Business in Community college. An avid reader who enjoyed sharing her knowledge of history and Native American heritage and culture, she was also comfortable conversing on topics such as medicinal advancements and the plight of polio victims, civil rights, and all facets of current affairs.
Combining a fiercely independent personality with a love for traveling and family friends, she lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Knoxville, TN, before moving to central Maryland in 1986.
Over the past three decades, Barbara settled into a wonderful career of food service management working at the Double-T Diner in Pasadena, MD. Her penchant for customer service coupled with her love of people made the Diner a perfect fit for her outgoing lifestyle. She developed a special bond and friendship with Diner owner Mr. Louie Korologos who treated Barbara as a mother and whom she loved as a son.
In addition to being reunited with her parents, Barbara now also joins her sister, Marjorie Rita Minchen, brother, Thomas Anthony Macaluso, son, David Neal Alexander, and spouse, Andrew Martin Larson.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughter Darlene and son-in-law Ronald Moultrie, cousins, Sandra Hawk and Rosemary Sapienza, niece and great nephew Michelle Macaluso and Owen Thomas, and second cousins Mark Ventura, Kenneth Wisor, and Larry Wisor. Barbara will also be remembered fondly by a host of close friends, neighbors, colleagues, well-wishers, and those whom she blessed with her kindness and friendship.
Honoring her personal wishes for cremation, there will be no funeral or formal service.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara’s life can best be honored by donations to your favorite charity or to the Maryland Food Bank.
