Ashton Tull Poole's Obituary
Ashton Tull Poole passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob”, and Frances “Pete” Poole, as well as his brothers Robert “Rip” and Doug Poole. He was surrounded by love from family and friends throughout the last days of his life.
He is survived by his wife Barbara “Bobbi” Poole, his three children: John, Amber (Chris), and Tobin (Ashley). He is also survived by his 10 beloved grandchildren (Henry, Tillman, Wyatt, Georgia, Cooper, Robert, Ashton, Clara, TK, and Ryann) as well as his 2 nephews, Josh and Alex Poole.
Ashton was always family first, nothing came before them. He was tough but fair. Pop was his grandchildren’s biggest fan supporting their passions including all of their athletics, rocket launching, dance recitals, band concerts, scouts and wherever their interests led them. If it was appropriate to cheer, his voice was always the loudest.
If there are projects in heaven, he is now a busy man. When there was a task he did not know how to tackle, he would learn how to accomplish it and do it with success. Ashton was an avid listener and learner, and loved a good conversation. He valued his family above all else and was always seeking new information in his thirst for learning.
Retirement suited him well as he enjoyed golfing, travelling with Bobbi, hunting with friends and family, fishing, crabbing, boating, pickleball, and countless manors of volunteer work. Ashton was a successful bone marrow donor, frequent platelet donor and worked with the Red Cross for local disasters as well as aiding in the aftermath of national events such as Hurricane Katrina, and the Boston Marathon bombing just to name a few. In addition he volunteered though the department of social services as a tax preparer for many years as well as representative payee.
Ashton had a lifelong love of Sherwood Forest, moving there as an infant along with his family. The numerous activities it offered allowed him to pursue his passions all while forming long lasting friendships, many of which continued until his end of life. He was a truly blessed man. He was extremely grateful for his family and his friends, near and far.
