Arnold Brown's Obituary
Arnold Brown was born January 7, 1955, in Washington to proud parents: the late Mary Elizabeth Brooks and George H. Brown.
Arnold quietly slipped away into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD at the age of 67. Arnold had a strong will, determination, stubborn persistence, and an unwillingness to admit defeat. He fought hard and long during his illness, and never complained.
Arnold received his education at Ralph J. Bunch Elementary School and Southern High School in Harwood, MD.
Arnold was self-employed along with his ride or die best friends and devoted brothers, BooBoo and Rick. You never saw one without the other, joined at the hip. Arnold was an energetic person, always busy trying to fix things that he had broken and never completely put them back the same way.
Arnold enjoyed fishing and playing pool and had an affectionate love for his dogs: Duke, Fendi, Gang, Taffy, Cuba, and Giuseppe. He would sit outside for hours rubbing and spoiling his dogs. He had a great passion for old cars, trucks, and a love for buying antique furniture and adding to his collectibles.
Arnold was always on the move, but he spent his quiet time listening to his proud collection of James Brown, “oldies but goodies,” and dancing with his wife, but he had no rhythm. He would laugh at himself because he knew he could not dance. He had an infectious laugh; you know the one where he would be laughing so hard while telling you what happened. Arnold was well-known and loved by many.
Arnold is preceded in death by grandparents: Jeremiah Columbus Brooks and Elizabeth Matilda Smallwood Brooks of Davidsonville, MD.
Aunts: Violet Dorsey, Louise Wemple, Millie (Polly) Ewell, Shirley Calhoun, Minnie, and Delores Colbert.
Uncles: MacClane Brooks, Jeremiah C. Brooks, William H. Brooks, George A. Brooks, Ernest O. Brooks, and Samuel (Sonny) Colbert.
Sister: Tina Brown
Four Brothers: Tony Brown, Tracy Brown, Tyreus Brown, and George (Butch) Brown
Arnold leaves to cherish his fond memories one daughter, Pieta Brown, who he adored and loved deeply and dearly. Pieta was “Daddy’s Little Girl” and the sparkle in his eyes. Unless he had a Kit Kat, she wanted nothing to do with Arnold, but of course, he went to the store to get one.
Arnold leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Celestine (Cessy) Randall-Brown.
We will never forget the past 6-7 years of patience and love you gave to Arnold during his illness. Arnold looked forward to the days when he knew we were coming. Every day at 4 o’clock when we entered the room, Arnold would be looking at the door saying, “You late, where you been?” When he was in pain and depressed, you encouraged him to talk to the therapist. Thank you for your love, support, care, commitment, and encouragement you gave to our brother that strengthened him. Arnold often times said that you were the best thing that happened to him.
Arnold also leaves to cherish his fond memories, his sisters: Patricia (Ann) Green, Sandra (MeMe) Brown, Maria (Doll) Thomas, Tumaria (Meece) Thomas, Monica (Monnie) Matthews (Antonio), Constance (Connie) Turner, Thirise Brown, Tanjala (Fatsy) Brown (Demond).
Arnold also leaves to cherish his fond memories, his brothers: James Joyce (Debra), Reginald (Ricky) Brown (Charlene), Ray (Goodnie/Tex) Joyce (Kathy), Terry Brown, Kim Brown, Steven (BooBoo) Brown, and George (Butch) Brown, as well as two brothers-in-law: Antonio (Tony) Matthews and Demond Brown.
Arnold leaves to cherish his fond memories his stepmother, Ann Brown Belgar.
Arnold also leaves to cherish his fond memories his aunts: Martha Brooks, Rosemary Brooks, and Victoria (Vicky) Brooks.
Arnold also leaves a host of nieces, nephew, cousin, family, and friends
